Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Akiba Bradford is an Intelligence and Business executive specializing in strategy creation for decision-makers in business, politics, and criminal justice. Her unique skillset in business strategy, data-gathering, organizational development, and community and political advocacy has taken organizations and individuals to the next level in growth and profitability. 

Ms. Bradford is the Founder and CEO of Lightheart Solutions, a public safety firm that provides strategic, operational, and technical assistance to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Her partnerships with law enforcement organizations, government entities, and private sector businesses are disrupting the cycle of violence and increasing the life expectancy of people of color.

Before founding Lightheart Solutions, Ms. Bradford held community-facing and research roles with the California State Assembly and Evident Change (formerly The National Council on Crime and Delinquency). She has also held appointed board and commission positions with the City of Oakland Community Police Advisory Board, Alameda County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission, and the San Francisco Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club. 

In Spring 2022, Ms. Bradford received a Master of Professional Studies in Applied Intelligence from Georgetown University (Washington D.C). She has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology from Knox College (Galesburg, IL).
